Sekhmet Hair-Sword

Inspired by the Egyptian Goddess Sekhmet. Goddess of war and medicine.

A walk through the art:

The hilt of this Hair Sword features a regal lioness bust, symbolizing Sekhmet’s strength and unwavering protection. As the "Powerful One," she is often depicted as having the head of a lioness and represents the fiery aspect of the sun, embodying both destruction and renewal.

Adorning the handles are crescent moons and ankhs. The crescent moon represents the divine feminine. The ankh is a symbol of eternal life and rebirth.

Etched down the blade of the Hair Dagger are lioness paw prints intertwined with the Eye of Ra. The paw prints evoke Sekhmet’s vigilance and guidance. The Eye of Ra offers divine protection and royal authority. Together, these elements encapsulate the balance of power and wisdom that Sekhmet imparts.

A lioness tail wraps around the end of the blade.

Materials: Steel and zinc alloy, nickel and lead-free

Dimensions: Approx. 6.5 inches long

Uses: while it is designed to be a hair-stick, hair-sword, or hair-dagger, it can also be used as an athame, altar decor, letter opener, bookmark, decor for a potted plant, a prop for an art doll, or tucked into a belt, thigh garter, or hat band. I'm sure there are even more ways to slay.
