Bastet's Hair-Sword

Inspired by the Egyptian Goddess Bastet. Goddess of the home, domestic practices, fertility/childbirth, and cats.

A walk through the art:

The profile of the hair sword is inspired by the ancient Egyptian khopesh (or khepesh). The khopesh is a curved, sickle-like blade that evolved from battle axes

On the pommel is a Sistrum, a sacred instrument of joy and celebration and the Solar Disk, symbolizing the sun’s energy, radiates creativity, vitality, and enlightenment.

On the hilt are a pair of cats. This concept of this duo was heavily inspired by the Oracle from the Neverending Story.

On the crest is the Eye of Bastet. With a fun take on feline inspiratione, it embodies intuition, perception, and grace, evoking Bastet’s watchful nature.

The Ankh rests on the tip. It is a symbol of eternal life and speaks to balance and limitless possibilities.

Crafted with intricate engravings and designed to honor Bastet’s essence, this Hair Stick is lightweight yet durable, making it ideal for hairstyling, ritual work, or as an altar tool. Its elegant design ensures it is as functional as it is beautiful.

Materials: Zinc alloy, nickel and lead-free

Dimensions: 6.5 Inches long

Uses: while it is designed to be a hair-stick, hair-sword, or hair-dagger, it can also be used as an athame, altar decor, letter opener, bookmark, decor for a potted plant, a prop for an art doll, or tucked into a belt, thigh garter, or hat band. I'm sure there are even more ways to slay.
