Persephone Hair-Sword

Inspired by the Greek Goddess Persephone. Goddess of spring and new growth.

A walk through the art:

At the pommel is a crescent moon. Symbolizing the divine feminine.

The hilt is adorned with pomegranate flowers, fruit, and leaves, a nod to Persephone’s connection to the myth of her descent into the underworld. Amongst the floral motif lies a sleeping baby fawn, symbolizing innocence, renewal, and her ties to nature and growth.

At the center on the heart shaped crest is my artistic take on the Sigil of Persephone. It is a combination of the sigils for Zeus and Demeter, an homage to her divine lineage.

Below the crest, two crescent moons frame a delicate bat, embodying her dual nature as the goddess of both life and death.

The symbols down the blade represent the path from the depths of the underworld to the sun, which rests at the very tip of the blade.

Materials: Steel and zinc alloy, nickel and lead-free

Dimensions: Approx. 6.5 inches long

Uses: while it is designed to be a hair-stick, hair-sword, or hair-dagger, it can also be used as an athame, altar decor, letter opener, bookmark, decor for a potted plant, a prop for an art doll, or tucked into a belt, thigh garter, or hat band. I'm sure there are even more ways to slay.
