About Us

Hi, I’m Nell, the creator behind Imagined By Nell. I’m an artist with ADHD, which means my creative interests are all over the map and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Over the years, I’ve explored everything from metalwork and jewelry design to embroidery, painting, and laser crafts, finding joy in the process as much as the finished piece. If you had asked me five years ago what my favorite medium was I would have told you gouache or watercolors. In the last few years that has been quickly replaced with a love for digital illustration.

Using this love of digital illustration, I create art from a blank canvas that gradually becomes the pieces you see in my store. Each design starts as an idea, something that feels meaningful, and it unfolds into a piece that carries its own energy. Whether it’s a hair accessory, jewelry item, or home decor I pour my heart into every step of the process, imagining how it will connect with the person who finds it. There’s a quiet joy in watching a simple idea turn into something tangible that is (hopefully) bound to become a part of someone’s everyday life.

I am an invisible gen X and you won’t catch me in front of the camera too often, as I much prefer life behind the scenes. That said, I love a good chat, so if you see me pop up on your social media feed, feel free to say hi! I call rural northwest Virginia home. I'm nestled in Fauquier County in the Shenandoah Valley, about 50 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. My days are shared with a cat and a dog, the occasional yard possum, and plenty of inspiration from the nature around me. When I’m not creating, I’m likely watching a horror movie while playing Hearthstone on my phone or getting lost (literally. I never know where I'm at) in Minecraft on the Switch. If the weather is nice, you’ll probably find me wandering around the yard with the dog. 

Imagined By Nell officially opened in January of 2021, and since then, I’ve been met with a humbling and overwhelming amount of support and love. Every day I am reminded just how fortunate I am to have this opportunity and to be able to create and share my art with all of you. It’s a blessing beyond words and I’m deeply grateful for each of you who has joined me on this journey

The path ahead feels full of possibility, and I’m excited for what’s to come. Each day brings new inspiration and the opportunity to grow, learn, and share more of my work with you. I’m grateful for the chance to continue this journey and for the people who have become a part of it.
