Iris Hair-Sword

Inspired by the Greek Goddess Iris. Goddess of the rainbow.

A walk through the art:

At the hilt, a crescent moon cradles a lab-grown rainbow oval opal set in a beveled frame.

The crescent moon symbolizes the divine feminine.

The opal symbolizes purity, hope, creativity and love. It was chosen for this design because of its rainbow coloring.

Perched delicately on the opal is a butterfly, a symbol of soul and transformation.

 Around the base of the moon, three Iris blossoms bloom, anchoring the design to the flower that bears her name.

Just below them, a rainbow rises from a storm cloud, an emblem of her divine path and the rare bridge she creates between light and shadow.

Rain droplets fall from the cloud and trail down the length of the blade, a reminder that even messengers must move through the storm.

Materials: Zinc and steel blend; nickel and lead-free

Size: 6.5 inches long

Uses: while it is designed to be a hair-stick, hair-sword, or hair-dagger, it can also be used as an athame, altar decor, letter opener, bookmark, decor for a potted plant, a prop for an art doll, or tucked into a belt, thigh garter, or hat band. I'm sure there are even more ways to slay.
