Loki Hair-Sword

Inspired by the Norse God Loki. Considered a trickster and God of chaos and mischief.

A walk through the art:

Inspired by the Langeid Sword. It was found in Langeid in Bygland in the Setesdal Valley in 2011, buried in a grave that dates back to the 11th century BC.

At the pommel are two twisting snakes. They representing Loki’s transformative powers, cunning nature, and ties to the underworld, the snakes capture his ability to shed old identities and embrace new forms. They symbolize rebirth, reinvention, and the delicate balance of chaos and order.

At the hilt’s center lies an apple, a nod to Loki’s infamous role in Norse mythology. As the instigator of chaos through his gifting of the apple to the gods, Loki reminds us of the power of temptation, the pursuit of knowledge, and the unpredictable consequences of bold actions.

Spiders and their intricate webs adorn the blade, representing Loki’s ability to weave cunning plans and illusions with precision. Like the masterful artistry of a spider’s web, Loki’s schemes reflect the intricate and delicate interplay between chaos and destiny.

Materials: Zinc and steel blend; nickel and lead-free

Size: 6.5 inches long

Uses: while it is designed to be a hair-stick, hair-sword, or hair-dagger, it can also be used as an athame, altar decor, letter opener, bookmark, decor for a potted plant, a prop for an art doll, or tucked into a belt, thigh garter, or hat band. I'm sure there are even more ways to slay.
